BERE REGIS is a rural village lying at the junction of two important main roads: the A35 Poole – Dorchester and the A31 Ringwood – Dorchester.

The village has a compact historic core, with a Conservation Area containing many attractive old buildings, now by-passed by modern traffic. The parish covers a wide and diverse area of countryside to the north of the Piddle Valley, with several farms and sand/gravel workings around the river itself, chalk streams and a watercress farm to the north of the village and an extensive area of forested land to the east.

Ex-Queen guitarist Brian May, has bought an area of woodland to the SW of the village to be used as a badger sanctuary in opposition to the recent government culls.

The Parish has a population of 1,845, with 1,449 electors.

BLOXWORTH is a small, isolated hamlet comprising a few scattered farmhouses and cottages, approximately 1 mile to the north of the A35 Poole – Dorchester road. There are approximately 80 electors.
